Annual Meeting Minutes – Mid-Winter Conference

President Graham called the meeting to order at 11:54 a.m.
TASA Membership attendance: 59 member services of 118 were present constituting a quorum.
Previous annual meeting minutes: Membership was provided with the minutes from previous annual membership meeting
• Motion by Ricky Slack – 2nd by Fitzsimmons to approve – motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report: Membership was provided with the financial report
• Motion by Andrew Reed – 2nd by Brandon Ward to approve the financial report – motion passed.
NAEMT: Brandon Ward discussed the EMS Day on the Hill upcoming on March 5, 2014 in Nashville. Discussion of proposed legislation to expand environment for EMS personnel and proposed TnCare cuts.
East TN Grand Division election: Secretary reported that only one nomination (Tommy Crowder) had been received.
• Motion by Rick Valentine – 2nd by Andrew Reed to elect Tommy Crowder as East TN Grand Division representative by acclamation – motion passed.
Open EMS Board seat: Motion by Cheatham County – 2nd by Smith County to allow nominations for open seat on EMS Board – motion passed.
Bylaws change: The proposed bylaw change regarding clarification for membership was provided to the membership.
• Motion by John Fitzsimmons – 2nd by Coffee County EMS to approve the bylaw change – motion failed to receive 2/3 affirmative approval. (27 yes – 23 no)
